3. What Makes Collins So Good?
Drafting Alabama Crimson Tide defensive players is usually a pretty safe bet. Coached by defensive coordinator Kirby Smart and the legendary Nick Saban, Collins is an NFL ready prospect. Collins has a high football IQ, and he plays the game fast. He reads the play and he reacts without hesitation. Collins will take some chances, he will fly around on every play but he is almost always where he needs to be.
Collins is pretty good raw speed. He ran a 4.53 40 yard dash at the NFL Combine. On the field though it seems like he is everywhere, like he is faster than that. That is because he plays without doubt and he has a high motor. Collins is a very physical player. Sometimes he may be over aggressive but it’s who he is as a player. The big plays come because he goes all out on every play and attacks.
Collins is a smart football player with heart and physicality. In other words he is everything you want in your starting strong safety. Collins had 5 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles in the past two seasons. Collins is a great athlete with almost unlimited potential. This could be the next great Giants defender; he was one of my favorite college football players to watch the past two seasons.
