 1. New York Giants Trade Up For SS Landon Collins

This trade was a total shock to me, the Giants hardly ever trade picks in the draft. They are not known for making such bold moves, but this is Collins we are talking about. Collins is a first round talent that fell into the second round and the Giants had no choice but to make a move.

This is the top ranked trade in the draft because of the huge impact it’s going to have on the Giants 2015 season. Collins has so much talent, that he instantly tops the Giants’ safety depth chart. He can be an immediate contributor in the Giants defense.

Collins has some the characteristics of being the perfect”Mini-Me” replacement for Antrel Rolle. He is dynamic, versatile, and is a very hard hitter. It is vital for the Giants to have an explosive player maker in their secondary this season. Look where it got the Seattle Seahawks.

The Trade:

The Giants shipped off a second round pick (40), a fourth round pick (108) and a seventh round pick (245)

The Giants received a second round pick (33) and drafted Collins

If Collins can provide what Kam Chancellor provides for the Seahawks, the Giants could be in great shape this season. I use that analogy because a lot of professionals compare the two very often. This move is going to pay off big time for Big Blue.
