10. Harry Newman

Newman took the NFL by storm all the way back in 1933. The Michigan product led the NFL in passes completed, passing yards, touchdown passes, and longest pass completion that year.

He was selected to be on the All-Pro team as well. His fantastic career didn’t stop there, he managed to lead the Giants to two NFL championship games.

Newman lost both NFL championship games, but he put up one hell of a fight until the last couple of seconds on both occasions. Losing shouldn’t tarnish his great athletic ability to play the position.

Newman set records across the board, even in rushing yards. He wracked up more than half of the Giants total offense in 1933 all by himself. If that doesn’t deserve a place in the top 10 I don’t know what does.
