8. Fran Tarkenton
In 1967, Tarkenton fell into the laps of the Giants via trade. While he didn’t do much to impress like he did with his previous team, the Minnesota Vikings, he managed to lead the Giants back to football relevance.
Tarkenton brought the Giants back from being the NFL’s worst team, to being considerably tough. That takes a lot of talent to practically carry the whole entire team on his back.
With the Giants, Tarkenton was a four-time Pro Bowl selection. Even though most of his success came with the Vikings, Tarkenton gave the Giants multiple years of stellar quarterback play.
Just because he played on such a high level in his career and continued that with the Giants earns him a spot on the list.
