2nd Down: Is Geremy Davis A Diamond In The Rough?

Geremy Davis is an interesting player. The Giants drafted him with their 6th round draft pick, thinking that he could be someone who could prove to be worth more than that 6th round pick. Remember Jerry Reese has a history finding gem receivers that others overlooked. Victor Cruz was an undrafted free agent.

It seems unlikely that Geremy Davis is the next Cruz like player. That being said Davis has the athletic ability and the toughness to catch the 50/50 balls, the passes Manning throws up as a shot in the dark in the desperate moments. Davis is a quick 6-2 receiver with a high football IQ. With a veteran quarterback in Manning, and a great receiving corps around him, Davis has plenty of time and resources for development.

At the very least Davis is a guy who you want to keep your eyes on during the preseason. The Giants past experience with hidden gems in the draft process makes you wonder if they have found their next diamond in the rough.
