5. Brad Van Pelt

Brad Van Pelt is a name that unfortunately gets clumped into an era of Giants football that simply just wasn’t very good. Van Pelt played 11 seasons with the team, including 5 that ended with a bid to the Pro Bowl.

Van Pelt is yet another Michigan State linebacker the Giants hit a homerun with. For years, he was the leader of a Giants defense that quite frankly needed it. Towards the end of his career he became a member of the “Crunch Bunch,” which featured himself, Taylor, Harry Carson, and Brian Kelley.

Too bad Van Pelt wasn’t in his prime during the Giants two Super Bowl runs in both 86′ and 90′. Imagine him with Taylor, Carson, and Banks all in their prime? Now that would be something special.
