4. Sam Huff

Sam Huff is one of the great Giants in franchise history, and really epitomized that great Giants defense of the 1950’s with Tom Landry as coordinator. He was one of many big-names that churned-out championship caliber teams in the 50’s.

It’s crazy to think Huff almost decide to hang up his cleats before his career ever really started back in his rookie season of 1956. He was position-less and decided to leave camp. Good thing offensive coordinator Vince Lombardi stopped him at the airport and told him to remain with the team.

Good choice in sticking with New York, Sam. In 8 years with the team, Huff was a 4-time Pro Bowl selection and 4-time 1st-team All-Pro. His accolades earned him a spot in the Giants ring of honor and a  spot at #4 on my list.
