2015 New York Giants: Damontre Moore Will Shine

As training camp approaches, it’s time to start evaluating the  New York Giants’ defensive line. Jerry Reese didn’t make any huge signings besides franchise tagging Jason Pierre-Paul. All of the added players from the free agency were purely depth. The Giants defensive line spots are up for grabs and I’m confident Damontre Moore will crush his competition.

Moore is loaded with tons of talent, but has struggled to show it these past couple of years. He got nowhere near enough playing time and became a rotational player under the former Giants’ defensive coordinator Perry Fewell. It all came down to how Fewell decided to use Moore and that clearly didn’t work.

This time around the new Giants’ offensive coordinator and pass rush guru Steve Spagnuolo has the right plan in store for Moore. If there’s one thing Spagnuolo can definitely do, it’s creating a fearsome pass rush and Moore will benefit a lot from him.

Moore is primed for a breakout season and will start opposite Pierre-Paul. He has a lot of work to do to beat out his competition in training camp, but with a strong preseason he can claim his job fast.

Let’s not forget all the promise Moore has shown. He has come up big on special teams on many different occasions. He blocked two punts, which isn’t and easy thing to do. If he blocks punts so easy imagine what he could do on the defensive line.

I would even go as far as to say that Moore and Pierre-Paul could be the next Michael Strahan and Justin Tuck. All we can do is wait and see.
