Week 13 Vs. New York Jets

It is always fun when the Jets and the Giants play. Because they aren’t a part of the same division or conference they seldom meet; this only makes the battle more meaningful. Todd Bowles is the Jets new head coach and this team is looking for a fresh start.

This team will depend heavily on the defensive unit. With Revis and Cromartie back in Jets green and white and with the addition of Buster Skrine, the Jets have a talented cornerback corps. The Jets have a great defensive line. Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson are great playmakers up front. The Jets can put pressure on Manning and they have the defensive backs to match up with the Giants receivers.

The offense is a different story for the Jets. They have talent. Brandon Marshall and Ereck Decker are a very good receiving duo. Jeff Cumberland and Jace Amaro are talented tight ends. The Jets have a committee of running backs that can get the job done. The problem is Geno Smith has had a horrible start to his career and there is no reason for hope there. Ryan Fitzpatrick has proven to be fools gold at the quarterback position and rookie Bryce Petty is not ready for the pace of the NFL. Without a quarterback, one of the NFL’s most talented rosters could be wasted.

The formula to beating the Jets is simple. They must stop the run, rush whomever is throwing the football for the Jets and put up points. The Giants should expect a big day from Larry Donnell. When teams have great cornerbacks, going to the tight ends opens up the passing game. The Giants need to test the struggling strong safety, Calvin Pryor.
