9. 2000

The 2000 season will be remembered by most as one in which the team was dismantled in a Super Bowl loss to the Baltimore Ravens. What many people don’t take from a Super Bowl loss is just how hard it is to get there.

The only thing many football fans look at are championships. They can validate an otherwise questionable career, or solidify a Hall of Fame one, but it’s really not the end all be all. The ride this 2000 team took was truly a special one, and it sparked some life into a Giant offense that historically lacked such.

Thunder and lightning between Tiki Barber and Ron Dayne created a scary run game against opposing defenses as quarterback Kerry Collins and wide receiver Amani Toomer represented the team’s aerial attack. As always, a good Giants team has always had a stout defense, and this one wasn’t much different. The names Michael Strahan, Jason Sehorn, and Jessie Armstead say enough.
