In 1932, a playoff system had finally been established and the New York Giants were now being coached by Steve Owen who had been on the 1st Giants championship team in 1927.
Under Owen, the team went 8-2-1 and defeated the Green Bay Packers in the championship game to claim their 3rd title in a little over a decade. What truly amazes me about this team and team’s of this generation overall, is how everyone played a role in the success of the team.
In 1938, 6 players threw a pass while at least 8 players received 15 or more touches at the running back position. There was no feature back or one quarterback, but rather a rotation. It’s amazing how much the NFL has changed over the course of 70+ years. This solidified over a decade of dominance for Big Blue.
