New York Giants: The Time Is Now, No More Excuses

The New York Giants have not tasted the sweet taste of the postseason for three long and frustrating years. The time is now for the Giants. It is time to reclaim Big Blue’s standing as one of the National Football League’s elite franchises.

Eli Manning looks like a brand new quarterback in the west coast offense of Ben McAdoo. He has weapons that would make most quarterbacks jealous.

The Giants focused on the offensive line, getting Ereck Flowers with the ninth overall pick. With the physically dominant Flowers and a healthy starting offensive line, there are simply no excuses on the offensive side of the football.

More from NY Giants News

The Giants hit a homerun drafting Landon Collins. Collins is a versatile, physical and tough strong safety who will help the Giants against the run and the pass. The defensive line looks poised to be a great pass rushing unit, with depth and strength.

Devon Kennard looks poised to become a dominant outside linebacker in the Giants 4-3 defense. If Jon Beason can actually stay healthy, the defensive front will be much more stingy than they were in 2014. I’m not listening to one more excuse, the Giants must have a sense of urgency to win.

In the NFL getting a balanced and complete team is really hard. Good teams have to make up for what they don’t have with the help of their superstars. The Giants do not lack these superstars that can make the difference between good times and a glorious parade in New York City.

Eli Manning may look rejuvenated in an offense that suits him perfectly, but the franchise quarterback is in the back end of his career. Manning may have his best football ahead of him but he is 34 years old.

The Giants don’t know how lucky they are to have a franchise quarterback with the merits of Manning. The Giants cannot waste another year with Manning under center; the time is now. The Giants must win now.
