3. A Little Bit Of Luck And Superstition
A little bit of luck can go a long way for the Giants. Key players getting injured is what killed them last season. I can only imagine what a healthy squad would be able to do. Last year the Giants lost Victor Cruz, Prince Amkamara, Geoff Schwartz and Rashad Jennings all to injuries. Not to mention that Dominique Rodgers-Cromarite had a lagging foot injury for most of the season that he happened to played through.
All those players had a major part on the Giants squad. Even losing one could be disastrous. The Giants already lost Will Beatty for half the season with a torn pectoral muscle. That will result in a huge shift for the offensive line. The loss won’t completely kill their season, but it’s a major rock in the road.
In recent history every time the Giants played the New England Patriots in the regular season, they win the Super Bowl. It happened twice in eight years. In between those years, the Giants have had multiple unsuccessful bouts. Now the Giants past couple years of struggling will come to an end. The prophecy can be fulfilled once again.
Am I one to buy into silly stats like this? No, not really, but it never hurts to believe. Twice in eight years isn’t much of a coincidence. History tends to repeat itself, so nothing is impossible.
