Being a sports fan is basically signing a contract saying you will get your heart broken a lot and in return you get to cling to the few special moments that make it all worth it. In the NFL 31 teams are disappointed on an annual basis as they’ve fallen short of the Super Bowl’s sweet glory. The New York Giants have won four of these elusive championships. This has given their fans four golden memories that they can cherish for a lifetime.
From Lawrence Taylor and Bill Parcells, to Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin the Giants have spread out their incredible moments of pure happiness from 1986 to 2011. The Giants have an incredible history with great memories lining the whole trip back into memory lane; but it is the four times that the Giants have stood upon the NFL mountain top that register as the truly special.
The Giants have won their division 16 times since 1933 (they won four championships before the Super Bowl era). In the Super Bowl era they have won five conference championships. The Giants have been to the playoffs 15 times in the Super Bowl era. The Giants have given themselves many opportunities but have only won four Super Bowls.
This just shows you how hard it is to win the biggest game in American sports. The Super Bowl is the most amazing event of our sports calendar and because it is so hotly coveted, it is so hard to earn the title of Super Bowl champions. The Giants got this honor bestowed upon them four epically awesome times. So before the Giants can march on to their fifth Super Bowl title, let’s relive the four biggest moments in Giants history.
