3. His Track Record
His resume speaks for itself. Whenever you can write “Super Bowl champion” on your resume it’ll make just about any organization come clamoring for you. Even with all the struggles he’s had since he left New York after 2008, he’s always found a great position somewhere else.
Upon his arrival in 2007, Spagnuolo took a defense that ranked 25th in the league in yards per game allowed the year prior, and quickly made them one of the league’s most feared. The team ripped off 11 straight on the road, due in large part to a defense that got after the quarterback.
He helped players like Justin Tuck, Corey Webster, and Barry Cofield blossom into the impactful players they eventually became. I personally think this organization gets the best out of him unlike any other he’s been on. Current players know his history with the team and have heard high praise from former players. That will surely play a part with having to get players to buy into his system and philosophy.
