Looking At The Matchups:
After you determine the strengths and weaknesses of your opponent, the next step is to determine who has the favorable matchups. The team that can force their opponent to play their style of football typically wins the game.
CS: What players have favorable match ups against the Giants?
FB: I think the Falcons’ pass game can be a favorable matchup against most teams, and that’s due to the number of ways they can hurt defenses. Julio Jones requires a lot of attention, and this can open up opportunities for Roddy White. The run game will only help the pass, too.
CS: What players have unfavorable matchups against the Giants?
FB: You can completely flip it over. I’m not convinced the Falcons have enough just yet to stop Eli Manning and the Giants’ passing attack. With Victor Cruz returning to join Odell Beckham, it could be a long day trying to slow them down. Vic Beasley will need to lead the way in generating pressure on Manning, but there will definitely be points there for the Giants to take.
