3. Jon Beason:

Beason has been plagued by injuries since 2011. He hasn’t played a full season of football since 2010. Beason only played in four games for the Giants last season. He came to the Giants in 2013 and showed that when he was healthy he was one of the Giants best players.

Beason had 93 tackles and an interception in 2013, a season in which he was able to play 12 games. Beason was the Giants most consistent defensive player and he was without question the team’s leader. With a high football IQ and a lot of experience he brings something to the Giants that they need desperately.

The Giants probably won’t get a full season out of Beason, but one can hope. When he is on the field the Giants defense is dramatically better. The Giants defense allowed an average run play of 4.9 yards last season. It is hard to see that happening against the Giants with a healthy Beason in the fold. The Giants need the quarterback of their defense on the field.
