Next game on our list of Manning’s best games came in his sophomore year in the NFL. Even thought it was only the second game into the 2006 season, putting down a division rival is always crucial in the long run. Once again, Manning showed why he’s one of the best when the game is on the line.
Manning posted up some impressive stat line this game as he completed 31 passes out of his 43 attempts. He threw for a season-high total of 371 yards that scored three touchdowns. Two of his touchdowns came to the sure hands of veteran wide receiver, Amani Toomer. The first pass was thrown for 37 yards and helped the Giants jump out ahead first.
The second came in last quarter in the most critical moment when the Giants were down 14-24 and needed to score to at least play for overtime. The Giants narrowed it down 21-24 when Manning found Toomer for 22 yards. That would help later as the Giants scored a field goal to tie the game 24-24.
In the end, it was Manning with hands up in the air where he saw an open Burress and pulled the trigger for 31 yards.
