3. Will Larry Donnell Become An Elite Tight End?
With a huge 6-6 265 pound frame and crazy athleticism there is no reason that Donnell can’t become the next Rob Gronkowski, or Jimmy Graham type player. Donnell has the physical attributes to make him unstoppable. Last season was his first year as the starting tight end and his game has a lot of room for growth. The Giants tight end has a chance to be one of the premier players in all of football.
Last season Donnell had 63 receptions for just over 600 yards receiving and 6 touchdowns. In his third season out of Grambling State it is time for Donnell to show that he is an elite playmaker in the NFL. He had two problems in 2014. He struggled to protect the football as a ball carrier and he had four fumbles. Donnell also was inconsistent, he had games where he was Manning’s go to guy (like his three touchdown performance against Washington) and he had games where he completely disappeared.
With elite playmakers around Donnell, could he step up and be the difference maker for the Giants? Can he take advantage of the tight coverage of his teammates Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz? Donnell certainly has the talent to be a superstar, it is time to see it week in and week out.
