5. Ryan Tannehill

Ryan Tannehill has really found his stride after a couple of years under head coach, Joe Philbin. He’s improved in touchdown passes, passing yards, completion percentage, and interception cut-down each of his 3 seasons in the league.

Many have ripped a part Miami for extending Tannehill at such a lucrative amount, but personally I’m a big fan. Statistically, he matches up with other high profile quarterbacks, he’s getting better, and so is the personnel around him.

In Philbin’s west coast offense, he’s matured from the wide receiver he once was at Texas A&M, to the leader of a franchise at the quarterback position. The next step is a playoff appearance, which looks more likely considering the current suspension of Tom Brady in the AFC East.

I think Tannehill is a more polished and less fundamentally flawed quarterback than Cam Newton, Kaepernick, or Griffin III, which is why I put him at this spot over the other three. Watch out for this Miami team in 2015. Tannehill has proved his worth as one of the league’s best up and coming quarterbacks. The Giants face off against Miami in week 14.
