3. Ereck Flowers Will Be Asked To Dominate Right Away
When the Giants drafted Ereck Flowers with the ninth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft they fully intended for him to be a starter. That being said nobody thought he would be the starting left tackle, that was until Will Beatty suffered a torn pectoral muscle. This isn’t speculation, it is fact: Flowers will be the Giants left tackle to begin the 2015 season.
This will not be an easy task for Flowers. Flowers has all the physical tools to dominate, in fact he is the perfect prototypical left tackle. There will be some bumps in the road but Flowers will be the Giants left tackle because at the end of the day the Giants don’t have a choice. Nobody they bring in is going to give them any more promise than Flowers will at the left tackle position.
With Flowers at left tackle nobody has to switch positions on the offensive line. Justin Pugh will be the right tackle. Geoff Schwartz and John Jerry the two guards and center position is a toss up between Weston Richburg and Brett Jones. Flowers will be the left tackle to start the season, this is almost a given. What we don’t know is how it will go. It is possible that the Giants will have to shuffle the offensive line still if Flowers cannot get the job done.
