4. The Defense Can Get To The Quarterback:

The Giants defense had a lot of statistics that weren’t pretty last season. They were 29th in total defense, they gave up 4.9 yards per carry, it was ugly. One thing the defense did well was getting to the quarterback. The Giants had 47 sacks last season which was the fourth most in the NFL. Jason Pierre-Paul had 12.5 sacks.

The Giants are only going to get better at rushing the passer in the 2015 season. The Giants have a revamped arsenal of pass rushers and an aggressive defensive coordinator in Steve Spagnuolo. I expect Pierre-Paul to be extra motivated because he still wants that long term contract from the Giants. The Giants kept his services by applying the franchise tag on him.

I also expect a big time performance from the Giants two youngest pass rushers, Owamagbe Odighizuwa and Damontre Moore. In the best case scenario Moore gets more playing time and dominates off the edge opposite of Pierre-Paul. Moore had 5.5 sacks last season in his limited role as a rotational player. Moore could be on the verge of a break out season, he has the talent to become a superstar.
