The New York Giants have one of the best linebackers in the National Football League in Jon Beason. When he is on the field the impact he has is outstanding. He is the Giants defensive leader and his experience and football IQ help him make great plays against the run and the pass. The Giants are hoping that their star linebacker can remain unhampered by injury so he can help turn around a Giants defense that ranked 29th last season and allowed an average of 4.9 yards per carry.

Beason is the leader of a linebacker group that could be very impressive this season. The Giants are expecting outside linebacker, Devon Kennard to take the next step towards being a great player. J.T. Thomas promises to help the Giants defense a lot, especially against the pass. Beason is the leader and the key at the second level of the Giants defense.

Beason is a 6-0 232 pound linebacker who hits hard on every play. With over 500 tackles, 4 sacks, 10 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles to his name Beason has seen everything the NFL has to offer. Beason is a seasoned pro looking to end his career with a Super Bowl championship. With the Giants high octane offense if Beason can help fix the defense he may just have an opportunity to do that this season. You never know what can happen in the NFL, you just have to get in the playoffs and you have a chance. Here are three big things to know about Beason.
