3. Ereck Flowers Stepping Up As Left Tackle:

The Giants know that they have to be careful not to make Flowers spoiled goods. So often a player is put in a tough position too early in his career and the player never lives up to his potential. That is the situation the Giants are hoping to avoid as they are throwing Flowers in a tough spot. As a rookie in the NFL, he will be tasked with protecting Eli Manning’s blind side.

Flowers has the size and the strength. That isn’t the concern. The concern is that he is an inconsistent pass protector who needs some significant coaching on his technique. When you watched Flowers at Miami there were times where he was simply amazing. There were also times in which his over aggressive nature allowed a pass rusher to have a good day. Flowers very well could struggle in his first season.

Flowers is a rookie that is essentially being asked to solve all of the Giants problems on the offensive line. If Flowers can man the left tackle position than every thing can work out for the offensive line. It is a big if and the Giants are really counting on Flowers coming through.
