5. Steve Spagnuolo Will Fix Everything:

The Giants defense cannot just be fixed automatically because Steve Spagnuolo is back as the defensive coordinator. Surely it will help to have someone with the experience of Spagnuolo calling the shots, but it doesn’t fix every problem the Giants have. The Giants defense needs to be fixed by great performances from their players.

The Giants defense has to get strong play from a secondary that has yet to determine who will be the free safety. The Giants defense has to get a strong performance from their linebackers, and their best linebacker is injury prone. The Giants have to get everything from their defensive line. The point is that players have to step up or Spagnuolo’s great coaching won’t matter.

The Giants are counting on a lot of things happening that are not guaranteed. While there is plenty of reason for optimism there is also much cause for concern. The Giants result in 2015 therefore remains a mystery that only time will answer.
