Teams Played For: Chicago Bears (2003-2014)

He may not be the same player he was in his prime but we don’t need him to be. The addition of the career Chicago Bear would add insurance for the oft-injured Jon Beason, as well as a veteran presence for a relatively young locker room. Though he played primarily on the inside during his time in the windy city he can play all three linebacking spots for the Giants. Since he has not been able to complete a full season since 2012 a reduced role may be exactly what he needs to stay healthy and essentially contribute once again. He may not be looking for a backup/rotational role but if he is I’d take a flier on a man who has 1174 total tackles, 15 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, 7 fumbles recovered, 16 interceptions, and 6 total touchdowns while being a cornerstone of defense that was for a long time dominant. He’s an upgrade over special teamer Jonathan Casillas and grinder Mark Herzlich. If it were me, I’d sign Lance Briggs.
