10. Pepper Johnson

Pepper Johnson played the first 7 seasons of his 13 year career with the Giants. Johnson was one of the great  linebackers of his generation. With a high football IQ and great consistency he will always be remembered as one of the Giants best defenders. Among his accomplishments were his 25 career sacks and 14 interceptions. He was a player that the opponent feared each and every week.

While Lawrence Taylor gets the bulk of the attention from those great Giants defenses of the late 80’s and early 90’s, Johnson played a pivotal role. Johnson was in many ways the leader of that defense and he may have had the best motor in football. Johnson never gave up on a play and he was always in attack mode. This was one of the best hitters in the NFL.

Johnson deserves to be on this list because he was a two-time Super Bowl Champion. On both Super Bowl winning teams, Johnson played a huge role.
