8. Carl Banks

Carl Banks was a great linebacker who was part of the Giants dominant defenses of the 1980’s. Banks was drafted by the Giants early in the 1984 draft. He came to an already dominant defense and he really helped take it to the next level. Banks played the first 9 seasons of his 13 year career with the Giants.

Banks had a knack for making the big play. He totaled 39.5 sacks in his career and quarterbacks absolutely feared him. Banks joined Lawrence Taylor to become one of the deadliest pass rushing duos in the history of the NFL. What set Banks apart was his incredible athletic ability. He was as explosive as an outside linebacker that there ever was.

Banks was part of one of the great defenses of all time. It is arguable that the Super Bowl winning linebacker group was the best linebacker group in NFL history. Banks is a two-time Super Bowl champion and a deserving member of the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.
