5. Phil Simms

Phil Simms doesn’t make the conversation for best all time quarterbacks but he is one of the greatest Giants ever. Simms was the Super Bowl MVP when the Giants took down John Elway’s Broncos. Simms only threw three incomplete passes in that Super Bowl, setting a completion percentage record for the big game. Simms was a great player and a great leader.

In his 14 year career with the Giants he threw for 33,462 yards and 192 touchdowns. In 1984 he threw for 4,044 yards and 22 touchdowns. The only real knock on Simms was his high rate of interceptions he had two seasons with over 20 interceptions.

Simms was exactly what the team needed him to be. He led the team through a lot of adversity and he gave them stability at the most important position in the game of football.
