2. Does The Offense Have Too Much Talent To Fail?
The Giants offense is loaded with talent. Odell Beckham Jr. might be the most exciting player in the game. Victor Cruz is a bona fide superstar when unhindered by injury. Larry Donnell and Rueben Randle are very solid weapons for Manning to throw too. The Giants also have Ben McAdoo, one of the brightest offensive coordinators in the league. There are doubts about the offensive line but is the Giants offensive talent too big to fail?
The Giants offense is centered around the quick striking passing game. Manning gets the football out of his hand quickly and hits receivers perfectly in stride so they can make plays in the open field. Not only do the Giants have the talent to make up for their shortcomings they have the philosophy that plays to their strengths. The defense can send all the blitzes they want, if Manning delivers the pass before they get there the defense is just wasting defenders against the pass. Another advantage of the west coast approach is that the short passing game can give you all the commodities of a healthy rushing attack.
The Giants offensive line, just like the defense just needs to be good enough. So few teams in the NFL have complete rosters. Almost every team in the NFL, no matter how good they are, has a handful of weaknesses. It looks like the Giants have enough talent on offense to make up for the team’s problem areas. That just means that Manning and company have to deliver each and every game.
