2. Akeem Hunt

The reason Akeem Hunt is so intriguing is that he has the potential to be a Darren Sproles like player. Like Sproles, Hunt is a shifty runner with blazing speed that can help out in the passing game. Hunt was a star for the Purdue Boilmakers but became an undrafted free agent. Hunt will have to dazzle to make the active roster considering that at the running back position the Giants have Rashad Jennings, Shane Vereen and Andre Williams already.

At his Pro Day, Hunt completed a 40 yard dash in 4.36 seconds. We are talking about a running back that has incredible speed. In the open field he is all but impossible to catch. One area that Hunt excels at, unsurprisingly is returning kicks for touchdowns. Hunt is one of the most exciting undrafted free agents I have ever seen.

The small 5-10 183 pound running back has a lot working against him. The Giants are loaded with options in the backfield and just spent good money to get kick returner, Dwayne Harris. The Giants may worry that Hunt’s small frame wouldn’t last at the NFL’s most violently hit position. Hunt has to prove himself and if he does, he could develop into a star for the Giants.
