Did anyone else see this? If you did, kudos, because I totally missed it.
When Jerry Reese let Barry Cofield walk in 2011, I said, “Huge mistake.” He replaced him with an even better player in Linval Joseph.
Then Jerry let Linval walk last offseason. My initial thought: even bigger mistake. You expect Hankins, who showed next to nothing his rookie year, to replace Joseph? Well, yeah… I guess so.
7 sacks, 51 tackles, and a forced fumble later, and Reese looks like a genius. It’ll be interesting to watch what Steve Spagnuolo plans to do with 320 pound 23-year-old as he lines up alongside Jason Pierre-Paul.
Message to opposing offensive lines: Good Luck.
