4. What Happens With Jason Pierre-Paul?

Before injuring his hand in a fireworks accident, Pierre-Paul was overwhelmingly considered to be the Giants best defensive player. Now we don’t even know what will happen to the Giants leader in sacks from a season ago. Pierre-Paul was given the franchise tag, but he never inked the deal. With an amputated finger, he has to wait and see if the franchise tag is on the table still.

If the Giants don’t have Pierre-Paul, or he simply misses time the Giants have to adjust. It is rather difficult to replace a player who had 12.5 sacks in the 2014 season. The Giants were hoping to get a big season from Pierre-Paul, because he would be motivated to earn a long-term deal. Now we really don’t know what to expect. He could remain the same great player, or he could struggle massively.

The Giants defense surely needs Pierre-Paul. A defense that has talent in clumps but lacks some things can’t afford losing a player like Pierre-Paul. This is a potential game changing injury for the Giants, one they couldn’t have prepared for.
