Winner: Ereck Flowers

I don’t expect Ereck Flowers to come in and be the stud left tackle the Giants want him to be. He will struggle a lot in the beginning of the season, but then definitely manage to come into his own. Flowers is going to have to fill a very big role for the Giants and will be a key piece to their success.

Flowers is going to have to protect Manning’s blind side. A rookie protecting an older quarterback’s blind side is a little bold. However, the coaches must have a lot of faith in him. Flowers is going to have to work out the kinks as the season goes on.

Eventually, Flowers will prove his worth as a high-end first round pick. The Giants were highly criticized for taking him and Flowers will use that as his motivation. Once he starts panicking defensive lineman, maybe then people will change their mind about him.

Flowers will only hold down left tackle, but come into his own as a leader. Flowers has something the Giants’ offense line lacks and that is attitude. His nastiness is something the Giants’ line could really use.
