2- The defense intercepts more then 20 passes

With all the pressure coming from the revamped defensive line I expect the cornerbacks to reap some benefits as well. Quarterbacks under pressure tend to do stupid things. They force throws, they throw balls up for grabs, and generally panic. With veteran corners Prince Amukamara, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and Trumaine McBride I expect the Giants defense to intercept a lot of passes this year. They are all very good cover corners and when QB’s under pressure have to throw into tight coverage bad things happen. Prince Amukamara set a career high with 3 picks last season, despite missing 8 games, he really looked like he turned the corner and started playing like the first round pick he is. Rodgers-Cromartie played all season with nagging injuries, he and safety Antrel Rolle were the only players in the secondary that commanded respect from opposing quarterbacks, but they could be avoided since the secondary was heavily depleted. That won’t be the case this year with the return of McBride and Amukamara. The young un-experienced safeties may be targeted but deep routes need time to develop and if the line performs the way it should there will not be time for too many deep shots. When those times do occur however I fully expect rookie safety Landon Collins to prove he is not just an “in the box” safety. I expect Cooper Taylor to use his large size and speed to position himself in front of defenders. I expect this Giant secondary to have an exceptional season.
