3- J.T. Thomas will be a starter

In 2014, Thomas started more then 2 games for the first time in his career. He played out of his mind. 2 interceptions, 5 passes defended, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 85 tackles, and 1 defensive touchdown while starting only 10 games. If all is healthy in the linebacking front I expect Thomas to start out as the 4th linebacker, spelling in as necessary. I think he eventually forces his way into the lineup and never looks back. With Jon Beason’s injury history there is a good chance that Thomas plays with the srating defense sooner then later. He has the speed to play sideline to sideline and would form an excellent outside linebacker duo with second year man Devon Kennard. There is also the possibility he steals a starting job away from veteran Jameel McClain. And even though McClain played in the middle last season I think Thomas may be a better fit in the event Beason goes down. McClain lacked some speed last season and got a bit exposed at times. Thomas’s speed is a major factor in his game, with it I think it will allow him to play all 3 linebacking positions and eventually take one over as his own.
