Eli Manning’s Contract Situation

Eli Manning is staring down a contract year, unless the Giants do something about it. I would lock him up for the remainder of his career and ensure the Giants have an all-time quarterback for as long as possible.

There are other options though. The Giants may decide to wait out the season to see how Eli handles the new offense in year two. He is coming off one of his most statistically successful seasons but he is just one year removed from his worst. The Giants may think it is best to let Eli play through the year and see which version of the quarterback they get in 2015.

If they wait it out they will have the option to franchise tag him in the off-season to ensure he does not hit the open market. If they tag him they will pay him a hefty one year contract. If they in fact do tag him and he for some reason does not want to sign a long term deal the Giants will have the option of trading their all-time, two- time Super Bowl MVP. This is something I would hate to see and in no way do I ever want this scenario to play out but it is an option if his contract goes to this point. Hopefully they resign him ASAP. What do you want to see happen with Eli’s contract?
