Teams come into every training camp with inflated rosters. Most of these guys are just considered “camp bodies”, some of them have an outside shot of making the team and others will battle every day for a roster spot. The back end of the roster is vital to any team. Injuries happen and players must step up.

However there are some guys that have had numerous opportunities to step up and just have not gotten the job done. Some veteran players find themselves in the twilight of their careers and need to be told it is time to walk away. Some guys will get another chance and some will not.

With roster spots at a premium the Giants must be very picky with who they choose to keep around for 2015. I think it is time to let go of several players who haven’t exactly played at a high level. There will be a player or maybe two who get squeezed out of the defensive line due to the numbers game.

The Giants look to have too many bodies on the defensive line as well as a crowd of safeties. They need all the bodies they can get for now but soon enough the 90 man roster will be cut all the way down to 53.
