Markus Kuhn – DT

Since arriving before the 2012 season I have wondered why. Kuhn was a late round developmental pick that frankly never developed. He has accumulated just 28 tackles over 3 seasons in New York and started 2 games. He is slow, does not come off the ball very well and has difficulty shedding blockers.

I have expected him to get cut for the past two years. Especially last year when the Giants brought Isreal Idonije into camp. For whatever reason, that I could never think of, Kuhn has been sticking to the roster. It looks like that run may be coming to an end soon though.

The Giants have brought in serious depth to the defensive line and unless they decide to keep 10 defensive linemen this should be the end of his Giants tenure. With veteran Jonathan Hankins, Cullen Jenkins, Kenrick Ellis in the middle Kuhn will be battling Jay Bromley, last years 3rd round pick for a roster spot. I would be shocked if Reese cut Bromley after just one season, especially in favor of Kuhn. In addition to hose guys defensive ends Kerry Wynn, George Selvie, and Owa Odighizuwa can all slide to the inside of the defense if need be.
