5 Players the Giants Should Cut Before the Season Starts

Adrien Robinson – TE
What bothers me most about Adrien Robinson is he is wearing Amani Toomer’s #81 jersey. Robinson has totaled 5 catches over 3 seasons. Those 5 catches netted 50 yards and 1 touchdown all that production came last year, with no games of more then 1 catch. The 2012 4th round pick has been a perennial disappointment. We have come into camp each of his 3 (now 4) years hearing how he is the “JPP of tight ends”. I would love for him to prove me wrong but I dont see it happening.
With Larry Donnell and Daniel Fells returning on 1 year deals the Giants are still in need of a 3rd tight end. Robinson may have the upper hand on undrafted rookie free agent Will Tye and practice squad player Jerome Cunningham, but he may not. Robinson does have excellent size and athletic ability he is just yet to do anything with it. If either Cunningham or Tye can outplay Robinson or even match his play the Giants should cut their losses. Only so many chances can be given.
