Jeromy Miles – S
Miles came to the Gaints just recently as a veteran who has experience with Steve Spagnuolo’s defense. I think the Giants brought Miles in for the sake of having someone around who knows the ropes. Over his 5 years with the Bengals and Ravens he has totaled 92 tackles and 1 interception primarily as a back up and special teamer. He has started 1 game in his career.
The fact of the matter is the Giants have two rookies in Landon Collins and Mykkele Thompson. Along with them they have safeties Cooper Taylor, Nat Berhe, and Bennett Jackson to play safety. I dont see the Giants giving up on any of these guys as Taylor has shown potential when healthy, Berhe and Jackson were both drafted last year. If Miles were to make the team it would be over Jackson but there is no bet he makes the team either.
Miles was brought it to show the young safety group the ins and outs of Spagnuolo’s defensive schemes and assignments. In all likelihood that is all he will be doing with the G-Men this year.
