2. What We Know

The truth is that we don’t know a lot about the injury. Thanks to a controversial report by Adam Schefter we know that Pierre-Paul has had a finger amputated and a broken thumb. He chose amputation of the finger because it would get him on the field quicker. This is still going to be a lengthy recovery but he should be able to play football this season. Pierre-Paul has a tough road ahead of him. He will have to adapt his playing style because of his injuries.

The Giants have taken the long-term contract off the table but are willing to bring Pierre-Paul back under the franchise tag that costs the team $14.8 million. While Pierre-Paul will still have to fight for his extra security of a long-term contract, he won’t be hurting financially under the franchise tag.

The most frustrating part of this whole thing is that there are so many questions we don’t have the answers to. This is very much uncharted territory for both the Giants and Pierre-Paul.
