Larry Donnell essentially came out of nowhere last season to give the Giants a legitimate receiving threat from the tight end position and in the red zone. Though Donnell played at a very high level for parts of the season he also played poorly and at times was a complete non-factor in games. It looks like he has a very high ceiling but in order for him to get there he must improve on several aspects of his game.
Don’t get me wrong 63 catches for 623 yards and 6 touchdowns is a very productive season but Donnell can very well blow past those numbers. His skill set as a receiving tight end rival some of the best in the game. However, it is his blocking, ball security, and consistency that leave Giant fans wanting more from the former quarterback. If he can get all of these issues in check or at least begin developing them to fine tune his craft Donnell may be a star one day.
Lets look at how Donnell can ramp up his game and really give the Giants a well rounded threat.
