3. Landon Collins – Safety

Collins’ presence is even more important with Nat Berhe’s injury. I don’t know how good the 2015 first-rounder will be–though I expect him to be pretty good–but his loss would be brutal for a defense with so much uncertainty in the backend.

Sure, Collins has no NFL experience, but at the very least we know he has the talent to succeed at the NFL level. And I like Mykkele Thompson and Cooper Taylor, and they’ve shown well in practice, but they still have a lot to prove as inexperienced mid-round picks.

With the Giants’ lack of safety depth, and the fact that the team’s two top corners, Prince Amukamara and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, are a bit injury-prone, Collins needs to provide stability at the backend of the secondary.
