Dec 14, 2014; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning (10) greets New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham (13) after Beckham

4. Beckham Jr. Will Take Away Coverage From Teammates:

Whenever you have a superstar player, the opposing defenses are going to try to take him out of the game. They are going to try to take Beckham Jr. out of the game and make Manning beat them with his other weapons instead. While the defenses will only slow down Beckham Jr. a little, the attention he gains will give his teammates plenty of opportunities.

Until Victor Cruz proves that he is what he once was, defenses are not going to freak out about him. Until Larry Donnell shows up consistently defenses aren’t going to be as worried about him as they will be Odell Beckham Jr. The truth of the matter is that the Giants have enough talent to thrive if defenses commit two to three players to stop Beckham Jr. Cruz, Donnell, Randle and now possibly James Jones are very capable targets that shouldn’t be underestimated.

There is no doubt that Beckham Jr. is the big fish in the Giants offense. That being said the Giants offense has a rather large pond with other capable swimmers. The Giants will only benefit if teams try to take Beckham Jr. out of the game.
