Dec 14, 2014; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III (10) fumbles the ball as he

Defensive Line:

* This doesn’t include Jason Pierre-Paul who very well may not start the season on the active roster. The Giants will make a move to make room when he returns.

1. Damontre Moore: Moore will receive an elevated role in the defense, especially if Pierre-Paul is out for a significant chunk of time. Moore has the potential to be the Giants next great sack specialist this season.

2. Robert Ayers: You cannot find a more solid and dependable veteran defensive end than Robert Ayers. Ayers is an all around good player that can get the job done when he is called upon.

3. Jonathan Hankins: Hankins is a star defensive tackle. The most explosive player the Giants have on the defensive line is actually their nose tackle. There isn’t anything I don’t love about what Hankins brings to the table.

4. Owamagbe Odighizuwa: Odighizuwa is a rookie out of UCLA who the Giants took in the third round of the draft. Odighizuwa is a strong defensive end who specializes in stuffing the run. He needs to develop as a pass rusher.

5. Kenrick Ellis: Ellis is a big run stuffing space eater. He may be the Giants most underrated and under hyped addition in the offseason. Ellis was a rotational player with the Jets dominant defensive line but he will play a larger role with the Giants.

6. Cullen Jenkins: Jenkins is a veteran defensive tackle who can do it all up front. With limited snaps he can make a really big impact on this team.

7. George Selvie: Selvie is another strong veteran option for the Giants defensive line. What he lacks in raw explosion he makes up for with a great football IQ.

8. Markus Kuhn: The Giants keep Kuhn on the active roster because they have a lot of defensive end depth but they need defensive tackle depth.
