Even thought Odighizuwa is ranked below surprise starter Kerry Wynn, Odighizuwa is still turning heads. Fellow defensive end Robert Ayers has had nothing but good to say about him.

Odighizuwa was the Giants third round pick this year, but he should have been ranked higher. He has had an extensive injury history that hurt his draft stock. It’s fair to say that this years’ preseason will be a durability test for Odighizuwa.

Steve Spangunolo is going to try to bring the heat this preseason game. If Odighizuwa can show that he’s going to be a big part of that, the Giants may not even need Jason Pierre-Paul if Odighizuwa pans out to be the next big pass rusher for the Giants.

As the offseason goes on, evaluating Odighizuwa is going to be essential to the Giants’ defense. Pierre-Paul didn’t show up yet and no one in the organization has a clue how his recovery is looking.
