A Sign The Team Still Needs More Depth

Meriweather’s signing, in my eyes, indicates the Giants may not be done safety hunting. With injuries and a lack of experience in the backend, I’m not so sure the Giants are very comfortable with what they have. A player like Quentin Demps makes some sense, considering he played 16 games for the Giants last year. And there are even some talented—well old, but still talented—safeties available in Bernard Pollard and George Wilson, though they’re both strong safeties, and the Giants already have a few of those in Collins and Meriweather.

Whoever it is though, I really do think the Giants are going to bring in someone else. They just have too much inexperience behind their corners, and the signing of Meriweather tells me they’re still not confident in their current unit.
