2. Never Take Your Foot Off The Gas Pedal

The Giants were rolling like a well oiled machine in their week 13 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In the first half nothing Eli Manning and company did could go wrong and they built a 21-0 lead over the Jaguars. The Giants ended up losing the game 25-24.

It was the last game of the Giants losing streak and at this point it just seemed like they were looking for new ways to beat themselves. The offensive line fell apart. Fumbles by Manning and tight end Larry Donnell didn’t help. The offense became a shell of what it was when it was steam rolling the Jaguars without mercy. The defense was put into tough situations and momentum had swung in the other direction.

It was a reminder that you need to play sixty minutes of football in the NFL. The Giants needed to keep doing what made them so successful in the first half of the game. They needed to keep their foot on the gas pedal to not allow the Jaguars to come back.

Good teams don’t allow a 1-10 team to come from three scores behind to beat them. The 3-9 Giants were not a good team, and they flirted with disaster at every opportunity.
