The defensive line isn’t generating pressure

They’re not sacking a whole lot this preseason, and this is concerning on a few fronts. One—we all know the deal with Jason Pierre-Paul. Their pass rush is significantly less intimidating without the Giants’ best rusher coming off the edge. We don’t know if he’ll be back. We don’t know how he’ll play if he comes back. The whole situation is concerning looking at that alone.

But even beyond that, they really don’t have anyone to even come close to replacing him. Damontre Moore has a lot of pass rushing potential. As does Owa Odighizua. But they’re not proven. And, the teams linebacking corps is probably their weakest unit—so they most likely won’t be getting much in the way of sacks from that unit either. They just don’t generate a ton of pressure, and the fact they haven’t done so far this preseason is pretty concerning. With their issues at linebacker and in the secondary, the team needs the pass rush to improve.
